Abstract:
The article ascertains the cases of quotation intertextual interaction, emphasizes that quotation as a complex stylistic unit may be integrated into architext through allusion, collage, mosaic, paraphrase, reminiscences, transplantation, it can function as constructive and evaluating device. Organically interwoven into memoir discourse, quotation frequently acquires the function of a separate fictional element in the general text structure. According to the theory of intertextuality, quotation in the memoir text has features of emblem, it is formed in various stylistic constructions. Manifestation of dissimilarity of such elements in memoir discourse allows to consider them as complex system phenomena or coinages. In memoirs about the Ukrainian writers of the 1960s there may be found their various textual variants. Spectrality of the phenomenon is connected with specific organization of the material. The latter influences shades of meaning, methods of compositional language “implementation”, naturalizing quotation insertions. Quoting in combination with elements of documentary, biographical, narrative discourse specifies memoirs as a metagenre.
