У статті доведено актуальність постановки проблеми часової компетентності в контексті професіоналізації особистості й обґрунтовано необхідності її розвитку задля забезпечення професійного зростання та профілактики регресивного розвитку особистості. Проаналізовано основні підходи до пояснення сутності поняття “часова компетентність”, що доводить багаторівневість і складність цього феномену, а також зв'язок часової компетентності з різними особистісними характеристиками та складовими професійної компетентності. Описано місце часової компетентності у структурі професійної компетентності керівника закладів освіти та її внутрішньосистемні зв'язки.
The article proves the relevance of the problem of time competence in the context of professionalization of the individual and the necessity of its development in order to ensure professional growth and prevent the regressive personality development. We have analysed the basic approaches to explaining the essence of the concept of “time competence”, which proves the multilevel structure and complexity of this phenomenon, as well as the relationship of time competence with different personal characteristics and components of professional competence. The place of time competence in the structure of the educational institutions principals' professional competence and its intersystem relations have been described. The study of the time competence of educational institutions principals' has been carried out by means of the questionnaire “Personal competence in time management” and the questionnaire on mastering of time management skills. In the process of the empirical study, gender differences in the development of personal competence in time management have been identified. It has been found that there are fewer persons with low and insufficient personal competence in time management among male respondents than among female. None of the educational institutions principals has demonstrated a high level of personal competence in time management, but at the same time, all respondents have revealed the lack of the skills to manage circumstances and time. It was found that the most sensitive to the problems of time management are the female deputy directors of educational institutions. The results obtained confirm the necessity of purposeful forming of such a type of professional competence as competence in time management Оn the basis of technological approach the author has developed the program of the development of educational institutions principals' time competence. The program contained three parts: a) the contentmeaning “Psychological fundamentals of time management, self-activity and resource allocation”; b) diagnostic “Psychodiagnostics of the individual style of time management”; c) corrective and developmental: “Development of the educational institutions principals' time competence”, and was implemented in the process of professional development of educational institutions principals.
